LATEST UPDATE FOR ACTIAN ZEN
On May 7, Actian announced new pricing for Zen v14 and Zen v15, but failed to provide a reasonable advance notice of the change. Because of this, and because of the number of open questions that we still have about their new price lists, we have removed Zen v15 and Zen v14 products from our on-line store. Given that it takes a finite amount of time to digest pricing changes and create new price sheets, change web sites, and so forth, we will not accept new orders for Actian Zen until Tuesday, May 14. There are two points of interest:

  1. Performance Tip: Some workstations may be quite slow due to over-active access to the INI files. This can be resolved by editing the file Unipaas\MSE\Unipaas 1.5\Energy.INI and setting "Resident INI = Y" and "Resident Files = Y".
  2. Performance Tip: Rebuilding your data files can help the engine take advantage of even more performance gains. See our white paper on the file rebuilding for more information.
